Ancyloscelis is a genus of bees commonly known as chimney bees. Ancyloscelis bees are known for their unique nesting behavior, building nests in sandy or loose soil. They create vertical tunnels or "chimneys" that extend into the ground, often with multiple chambers for rearing offspring. These bees are primarily solitary foragers, visiting a wide range of flowering plants to collect nectar and pollen.
