Northern Rough-winged Swallow

Stelgidopteryx serripennis

Found in open areas often near water and nests in burrows excavated by other animals as well as in crevices in gutters, boxes, drainpipes, walls, and bridges. They are insectivores, feeding almost exclusively on flying insects including many flies, wasps, winged ants, bees, true bugs, and beetles. Also eats some moths, caterpillars, mayflies, and damselflies, The name 'Rough-winged' comes from small serrations on the outermost wing feathers.
