American Snout
Libytheana carinenta
The Libytheana carinenta (American Snout) is a butterfly native to the United States and Mexico. It is found in open grassy areas, wetlands, and wooded areas, as well as gardens and parks. Its diet consists of nectar from a variety of flowers. It has a unique snout-like projection on its head and its wingspan can reach up to five centimeters. Its wings are brown and orange in color with white spots along the edges.
