Blackened Bluewing
Myscelia cyananthe
The Myscelia cyananthe, or Blackened Bluewing, is a beautiful butterfly found primarily in South and Central America. It inhabits tropical and subtropical forests, as well as grasslands and woodland areas. The Blackened Bluewing's diet consists mostly of nectar from various flowering plants. It is known for its distinctive behavior, with males actively patrolling for females in the air. The Blackened Bluewing is a medium-sized butterfly with black and bright dark blue wings. Its wingspan is approximately 2.5 inches.
