Butterflies of Zihuatanejo
SUPERFAMILY PAPILIONOIDEA
Eight-spotted Longtail
Ectomis octomaculata
This butterfly gets its name from the eight prominent white or pale yellowish spots on its brown wings. Like other skippers, it has a rapid and erratic flight pattern. They are often seen near flowering plants where they feed on nectar, using their proboscis to reach deep into the flowers.
