Johngarthia planata (East Pacific Land Crab) is a bright orange species of terrestrial crab that lives on the tropical and subtropical Pacific coast of the Americas, from California to Colombia. These crabs are omnivorous and feed on seaweed (algae), vegetation and sometimes carrion.
