Dragonflies and Damselflies (Order Odonata)
The Helen's Darner (Gynacantha helenga) is a species of dragonfly in the family Aeshnidae. This family is known for its fast-flying, robust dragonflies often referred to as darners. Generally features a combination of greenish or brownish tones on the thorax and abdomen, with markings that help it blend into its natural environment. Like other darners, it has large, closely set compound eyes that nearly touch at the top of the head, providing exceptional vision.
