Lefteye Flounders
Family Bothidae
Lefteye Flounders known for their striking camouflage abilities and distinctive coloration. It has an oval, laterally compressed body typical of flounders, with both eyes located on the left side of its head. Ambush predator: It buries itself in sand, lying in wait for unsuspecting prey. Diet consists mainly of small fish, crustaceans, and invertebrates. Uses its binocular vision to judge distances and strike quickly at prey.
