The bluespotted cornetfish, also known as smooth cornetfish or smooth flutemouth, is a marine fish which belongs to the family Fistulariidae. Found in the Eastern Central Pacific from Mexico to Panama. It is a piscivorous, bottom-swimming fish that occurs shallow coastal waters along coral and rocky reefs, or above sand or seagrass bottoms close to reefs. Fistularia commersonii is primarily piscivorous, with fish representing >95% of the diet, while crustaceans make up a minor component.
