Razor Surgeonfish
Prionurus laticlavius
The Razor Surgeonfish, Prionurus laticlavius, is a member of the Surgeonfish or Acanthuridae Family, that is also known at the Yellowtail Surgeonfish and is known in Mexico as conchinito barbero and indio. The Razor Surgeonfish is a coastal schooling species found in shallow waters in and around coral and rocky areas at depths up to 30 m (100 feet). They feed diurnally and primarily on benthic algae.
