The Bigeye Scad (Selar crumenophthalmus) is a small, schooling fish commonly found in tropical and subtropical waters around the world. It is a member of the jack family, Carangidae, and is important in both commercial and subsistence fisheries. Typically grows to 15–30 cm (6–12 inches) in length. The body is slender and elongated, with a silvery-blue coloration on the back and silvery-white on the sides and belly. Carnivorous, feeding on small crustaceans, zooplankton, and occasionally small fish.
