The Mayan Lichen Mantis (Liturgusa maya) is a slender, cryptic praying mantis species native to the forests of Central America. Its mottled green, gray, and brown coloration mimics lichen-covered bark, providing excellent camouflage. This mantis is highly agile and primarily nocturnal, hunting small insects along tree trunks and branches.
