Ceratomia (Genus)
The genus Ceratomia is a group of sphinx moths in the family Sphingidae, commonly known for their large size and distinctive flight patterns. Members of this genus are part of the broader group of hawkmoths, which are well-known for their rapid, hovering flight and their ability to feed on nectar while in motion, much like hummingbirds. These moths are typically active during dusk and night, and their larvae are commonly referred to as hornworms due to the characteristic horn-like projections on their rear.
