Stick Insects of Zihuatanejo
FAMILY DAPHER0MERIDAE
Walking Sticks
Family Diapheromeridae
Members of Diapheromeridae typically have elongated bodies and long, slender limbs that resemble twigs or branches. This morphological adaptation allows them to blend seamlessly into their surroundings, providing excellent camouflage against predators. These insects are herbivorous, primarily feeding on leaves from a variety of plants. Their specialized mouthparts allow them to efficiently consume foliage.
